ON THIS BASE, AT THEN OFFICIAL RESIDENCE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL OF THE UNITED STATES 13TH AIR FORCE, MANUEL ROXAS, FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES, SOLDIER, STATESMAN AND EXPONENT OF PHILIPPINE–AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP, DIED ON 15 APRIL 1948.
