CHURCH OF DAGUPAN

THE AUGUSTINIANS HAD CHARGE OF THE SPIRITUAL ADMINISTRATION OF DAGUPAN FROM 1590 TO 1713, AND THE DOMINICANS FROM 1713 TO THE CLOSE OF THE NINETEENTH CENTURY. AN EARLY CHURCH AND A CONVENT WERE BURNED IN 1660 WHEN ANDRES MALONG’S MEN RAZED THE TOWN. THE REV. PEDRO RAMA, O.P., REBUILT THIS CHURCH IN 1816. IN 1895 THE REV. VICENTE IZTEGUI, O.P. REBUILT THE FACADE THAT THE EARTHQUAKE OF MARCH 16, 1892 HAD DESTROYED.
