EDITOR, EL RENACIMIENTO, 1907–1909; ONE OF THE DEFENDANTS IN THE LIBEL SUIT AGAINST EL RENACIMIENTO, 1902–1912; MEMBER, PHILIPPINE ASSEMBLY, 1910–1913; SECRETARY, PHILIPPINE ASSEMBLY, 1913–1916; DIRECTOR, NATIONAL LIBRARY, 1916–1917; AND 1929–1939; SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR, 1920–1922; EXECUTIVE SECRETARY AND CHIEF ADVISER OF THE COMMISSION ON INDEPENDENCE, 1923–1925; FIRST PRESIDENT PHILIPPINE CHAPTER, ACADEMIA HISPANO–AMERICANA DE CADIZ, 1925.
