ORGANIZATION OF REVOLUTIONARY GOVERNMENT

IN THE HALL OF THE CONVENT OF TANZA ON MARCH 23, 1897, AT ABOUT EIGHT O’CLOCK IN THE EVENING, GEN. E. AGUINALDO AND GEN. MARIANO TRIAS TOOK OATHS AND ASSUMED OFFICE AS PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REVOLUTIONARY GOVERNMENT. GEN. ARTEMIO RICARTE WAS INDUCTED INTO OFFICE AS GENERALISSIMO (CAPTAIN GENERAL) OF THE REVOLUTIONARY FORCES IN THE SAME PLACE ABOUT ONE O’CLOCK THE FOLLOWING MORNING. THEY WERE CHOSEN BY THE REVOLUTIONISTS AT A CONVENTION HELD ON MARCH 22 AT A CONVENTION HELD ON MARCH 22 AT THE CASA-HACIENDA OF TEJEROS. THIS NEW GOVERNMENT REPLACED THE KATIPUNAN.
